Tadayuki Imanaka

Profile

  • Professor Emeritus at Kyoto University, Ph. D of Engineering.

  • Has taught at Osaka University, Kyoto University, and Ritsumeikan University since 1970 in the fields of Biochemistry, Genetic Engineering, and Microbial Engineering and engaged in research on microorganisms and energy development using microorganisms.

  • Founded IT Tech. in Japan I 2018  in order to directly contribute to society with his past research and development experience.

  • Received the Order of the Sacred Treasure in 2018 for his half-century of distinguished service and achievements to his country and society, as well as for the fulfillment of his important duties. 

  • Received award the Medal of Purple Ribbon in 2010 for his numerous pioneering achievements and significant contributions to the advancement and application of Microbiology in extreme environments, including the elucidation of numerous new enzymatic and metabolic pathways of Thermococcus kodakaraensis.

  • Participated in the 46th Japanese Antarctic Research Expedition in 2004 and discovered many new general and species of microorganisms.  Serves as President of Shirase University and Antarctic Institute.
